A highlight this season was seeing him beat all of the current Army U23 Cross Country runners when they toured Cyprus earlier in the Year. He was also part of the team that came second in the International military sports council cross-country event and was part of the CBF’s Cup winning team, placing second as an individual in that race. LCpl Hollis has massive potential and will be wearing an Army Cross Country vest in the not too distant future. For his outstanding dedication and on-going commitment to the Battalion Cross Country team, LCpl Hollis is the 2 PWRR Young Sportsman of the Year.

Sportsman of the Year:

Sgt Coulter has represented the Battalion at cross-country, and was part of the team that won the league, as well as the cross-country and orienteering events that were part of CBF’s Cup. Last year he was in the team that won the Cyprus Walkdown, and part of the second highest placed Bn team this year. He has consistently represented the Battalion at football and this year has focused on managing the team, training them twice a week in the evenings and leading them to win 2 out of their 3 games so far this year. For his continuing efforts and achievements, Sgt Coulter is the Runner-Up for 2 PWRR Sportsman of the Year.
Winner
WO2 Fassett has represented the Battalion throughout the year in a number of sports. He has achieved three top ten finishes in triathlon, coming 10th in the Agia Napa Triathlon, 7th in the Northern Cyprus Triathlon and 4th in the K1 Man Triathlon. He was part of the cross-country team that won the league, finishing in the top ten in every race he ran. In swimming, he was part of the Battalion team that entered the BFC competition and completed the Bay-2-Bay swim in his own time, having missed the event itself. He was part of the highest placed Battalion team in this year’s Cyprus Walkdown and is currently BFC Cycling Secretary, organising and taking part in a number of events throughout the year. In addition to this, he works hard to promote sports and encourage soldiers to take part. For his continuing efforts and achievements, WO2 Fassett is the 2 PWRR Sportsman of the Year.
